In the port towns of Darwin and Broome, men arriving from the south quickly abandoned heavier fabrics for white linen, better suited to the tropical heat and humidity of Australia's north. Alongside white duck and drill, linen became a practical staple of everyday dress in these towns from the early 1900s through to the Second World War, valued for staying cool through long, humid days.
The Linen Long Sleeve Shirt reinterprets that practical need for breathable, lightweight dressing in a loose, relaxed fit suited to modern wear. Herringbone tape trim through the interior gives it a considered, finished feel, while a pleated back allows ease of movement without losing its shape.
